GROUP FX & TREASURY ADVISER
Pathway Consulting is recruiting a Group FX & Treasury Adviser for its client, responsible for leading the group’s foreign exchange management strategy, liquidity positioning, and financial risk management across its operations in Mozambique, Portugal, and South Africa. The role involves specialized advice on foreign exchange markets, financing structures, trade finance instruments, forward contracts, and hedging strategies.
Main Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement the group’s foreign exchange (FX) management strategy;
- Manage currency exposure in USD, EUR, and ZAR across different geographies;
- Execute and monitor spot and forward foreign exchange transactions;
- To structure and implement currency hedging strategies for risk mitigation;
- Manage relationships with banks and financial partners, ensuring access to FX and financing;
- Monitor liquidity and cash flow, including liquidity forecasting;
- To support the structuring of trade finance instruments;
- Produce reports on foreign exchange exposure, liquidity, and financial risk for executive management;
- To conduct currency impact analyses and support the group’s strategic decisions.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Management, Treasury or related field;
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in treasury, FX trading, corporate banking, or financial advisory;
- Proven experience in managing foreign exchange exposure in multi-currency environments;
- Solid knowledge of hedging instruments, forward contracts, and foreign exchange risk management;
- Experience in emerging markets or contexts with currency restrictions will be an advantage;
- Strong financial analysis and risk management skills;
- Skills in negotiation and relationship building with banking institutions;
- Analytical, strategic, and results-oriented profile.
