Our client in Pemba is looking for Crane Supervisor to join their team within the Mining Sector.
Responsibilities
- Supervise all crane and lifting operations on site
- Ensure lifting activities are carried out according to approved lifting plans, risk assessments, and method statements
- Coordinate crane operators, riggers, signalers, and other team members
- Conduct pre-lift meetings/toolbox talks with the lifting team
- Ensure proper use and handling of lifting equipment (cranes, slings, shackles, etc.)
- Monitor lifting operations and stop any unsafe work immediately
- Ensure all lifting equipment is certified, inspected, and fit for use
- Maintain clear communication with the team using signals or radios.
Requirements
- Technical qualification in Engineering, Construction, or a related field
- Certification as a Crane Supervisor / Lifting Supervisor (preferred)
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in lifting operations
- Strong knowledge of crane operations and rigging practices
- Ability to read and understand lifting plans and load charts
- Good leadership and communication skills
- Strong awareness of health and safety standards.
