Community Engagement Senior Officer – Ref.Nº 12/ SO/2025
N´weti is a non-profit organization founded in 2008. The national leader in health communications and positive social behaviour changes, it focuses on sexual and reproductive rights, HIV, gender-based violence, family planning, and nutrition.
N’weti is seeking dynamic, experienced professionals committed to gender justice to lead the implementation of the EU SOU CAPAZ Girls Empowerment Program in Nampula province, for an anticipated 24 months project.
The Community Engagement Senior Officer, will play a pivotal role in mobilizing communities, engaging with local stakeholders, and ensuring grassroots participation in the implementation of the EU SOU CAPAZ Girls Empowerment Program, working closely with youth groups, community leaders, and schools to foster ownership, accountability, and sustainability of program outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of community engagement strategies across the different districts in the province.
- Coordinate community-level outreach, awareness-raising, and training activities focused on girls’ rights, empowerment, and sexual and reproductive health.
- Facilitate collaboration with youth leaders, teachers, caregivers, community-based organizations, and local authorities.
- Support the development of participatory tools and methods to enhance community involvement.
- Monitor progress and document lessons learned from community engagement efforts.
- Ensure strong linkages between community-level inputs and overall program planning and reporting.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Community Development, Education, Social Work, Gender, or related field.
- At least 7 years of professional experience, including 5 years in community engagement, mobilization, or youth programming.
- Proven experience working in rural and peri-urban contexts with diverse community stakeholders.
- Strong facilitation and communication skills.
- Knowledge of participatory methodologies and behavior change strategies.
- Fluency in Portuguese; knowledge of local languages spoken in Cabo Delgado or Sofala is a strong advantage.
