Country Manager – Mozambique (Maputo)

Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Country Manager to lead our office in Maputo, Mozambique. The selected candidate will play a key role in the strategic management of local operations, business development, and the supervision of engineering and infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Represent GWIC in Mozambique, managing relationships with clients, partners, and local authorities.
- Lead and supervise the Maputo office team and day-to-day operations.
- Oversee the implementation and supervision of projects, ensuring compliance with deadlines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Identify new business opportunities and support the expansion of GWIC’s footprint in the Mozambican market.
- Foster effective communication and alignment between the Maputo office and GWIC’s other offices worldwide.
- Support the preparation of technical and commercial proposals for both public tenders and private clients.
- Ensure full compliance with all legal, regulatory, and ethical obligations in Mozambique.
Profile and Qualifications:
- Master’s degree (MSc) in Civil Engineering or Architecture (mandatory).
- Registered and in good standing with the relevant professional order in Mozambique (mandatory).
- Minimum of 10 years of proven experience in project management and team leadership, preferably in an international or multinational environment.
- Demonstrated business development skills and ability to build and maintain institutional and private client relationships.
- Proficiency in digital tools for management and reporting (MS Office, MS Project, etc.).
- Advanced proficiency in Autodesk tools (AutoCAD, Revit, etc.) is mandatory.
- Fluent in English (spoken and written) – mandatory.
- Strong results orientation, decision-making ability, and strategic vision.
- Knowledge of the engineering and construction sector in Mozambique is an asset.
